Momoko Fritz has been a photographer for 27 years. She grew up most of her life in a suburb of Seattle where she found her love for photography. Her love began after her first photo submission in the 5th grade. Her journey continued in high school where she started her photo education in 1998 in the photography program and she then continued her photo studies in college where she received a BFA in Photography in a commercial photo program in 2006. Her education was 98% taught in film (analog) photography with explorations in palladium prints and 4x5 cameras. Photography has allowed Momoko to travel the US and the world which marries two of her favorite things, seeing new places and photographing. Her favorite destinations have been Tokyo, San Miguel De Allende, Paris and Germany.
Being half-Japanese, Momoko is influenced by the culture’s clean, yet beautiful approach to life and art. When Momoko isn’t working in both the Lifestyle and Commercial photography world, she is a mom to three teenage boys and a dog named Nacho. Her hobbies are baking, cooking, long distance running, being around people and hosting a supper club called Cowgirl Banquet.
Momoko Recently photographed a book called Mother/Founder which is published by Hachette through Artisan Press and authored by Amanda Jane Jones and Jennifer Fernandez. In 2023 Momoko spent the year photographing 65 working mothers all over the United States who started or owns their own business. You’ll find notable women like Clare V., Ashley Streicher, Maira Kalman, Shannon Watts, Rudy Jude, Emma Bennett and more.
